Pinegrove Fellowship Baptist Church

Dear Pinegrove Fellowship Baptist Church,

Winter has arrived!  It is a little late but snow finally flew in Tulcea and area during the last full week of January.  We praise the Lord that our travels brought us back home before the major snow hit and before roads were blocked leaving many motorists stranded for up to 72 hours.

Thanks for your prayers for the 3 day VBS held in early January.   There were about 60 children present.  Since then, two of the children have begun to attend Sunday school and church. There were many university and high school students as well as a few adults who helped run the program.   We were pleased that our neighbour’s niece, whom we invited to come, was able to come for a day.  We pray for more contact with her and our neighbour during the next few months.  

Mike, I and our team mate Kim were able to conduct a teacher training seminar in Olanesti, (south, central Romania).  There were about 20 – 25 teachers present; some who have taught for a while and others with little experience.  It was encouraging to see them interact and participate in all that we had planned.  We thoroughly enjoyed the weekend and have been asked to return again sometime later in the year.   

Mike has begun some training for 4 – 5 men in two small churches in Tulcea County.  He will be working with them on a weekly basis to prepare them to serve in their churches.  At present neither church has a permanent pastor.

Please pray for the discipleship group as they grow in their faith as well as the weekly children’s program on Saturday run by some people from the church with whom I (Mary Lou) am working.  Most of the children come from unsaved families. As well we would appreciate your prayers as we attend the National teachers’ conference that we will make some good contacts with children’s workers in the northern part of the country.
